Food Safety Manager
Randstad is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Sanitation Manager to lead the quality and hygiene programs for a premier food manufacturing client in East Moriches, NY. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring that all production processes meet the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee a dedicated team and manage the daily execution of sanitation protocols within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- Experience: 5+ years of management experience in food safety or sanitation within a food manufacturing facility.
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred. Must hold a HACCP certification and be PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certified.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of FSMA, SQF, and FDA requirements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and performing root-cause analysis for any safety or quality deviations.
- Leadership: Communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team and work cross-functionally with Production and Maintenance.

- Program Leadership: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive Food Safety and Sanitation programs, including SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) and HACCP plans.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure the facility remains compliant with SQF, FDA, and New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets regulations. Lead the team through internal and external audits.
- Team Management: Direct and supervise the sanitation crew, providing training on chemical handling, equipment teardown/reassembly, and proper cleaning techniques.
- Microbiological Monitoring: Manage environmental monitoring programs and coordinate with labs to ensure a pathogen-free production environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve sanitation efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance food safety culture across all departments.
