Sr. Full Stack Engineer

Position Overview

Avero is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team, building high-impact features for our hospitality customers. In this role, you'll work across the stack on modern, scalable applications while helping to solve complex business problems faced by our customers and partners.

As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in shaping Avero’s engineering culture by fostering collaboration, promoting high-quality development practices, and mentoring fellow engineers. You’ll work closely with product managers and other stakeholders in a remote-first environment to drive the design and implementation of both internal tools and user-facing applications.

You may also contribute to hiring and onboarding new team members as we grow. This is a 100% remote position reporting to Avero’s Director of Engineering.

• An experienced software engineer with a strong foundation in both frontend and backend development
• Comfortable working independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team
• Passionate about user experience and delivering high-quality features
• A clear communicator who can contribute to team discussions, planning, and documentation
• Curious and pragmatic—interested in finding the best solution, not just the flashiest

• Build and maintain full stack features that serve both internal users and external customers
• Contribute to frontend-heavy projects with a strong focus on usability and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, scope, and deliver technical work
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Help improve our development workflows, tools, and system architecture
• Investigate and resolve bugs and production issues as needed

• You don’t need to be an expert in everything below, but familiarity with several is expected. We’ll help you ramp up on the rest.
• Frontend: React, React Native, Angular 1.x

• Backend: Node.js , Java, Apollo GraphQL, gRPC
• Databases: Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB
• DevOps & Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Terraform

• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience working on full stack applications in a production environment
• Strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks and web application architecture
• Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs
• Excellent communication skills, especially in a remote setting

$135,000 - $145,000 a year
