Red Hook Tavern brings classic American tavern fare to the waterfront village in Brooklyn, where friends gather to share a bottle of wine, a few laughs, and a great meal. The Role
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hospitality-driven bartender to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy dining room, values thoughtful, attentive service, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and memorable guest experience.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to house standards and guest preferences
- Engage with guests, take orders, and provide thoughtful recommendations on cocktails, wine, and food pairings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar at all times
- Accurately process payments and manage transactions; experience with TOAST is a plus
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service
- Communicate clearly with bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff to support smooth service
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including stocking, prepping garnishes and syrups, and batching cocktails
Who You Are
- Passionate about hospitality and creating a genuine guest experience
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails and a solid foundation of wine
- A team player with a positive, professional attitude
- Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a clean and organized workspace
