Portfolio Strategist Associate - Investment Management

Overview

A leading international investment and technology development firm is looking to appoint a Portfolio Strategist Associate.

The firm seeks a highly motivated associate to join the firm’s Investment Management group’s portfolio strategy team. The team develops and manages active equity and multi-asset class investment strategies that complement the firm’s longstanding hedge fund strategies, leveraging advanced research and technology to serve institutional clients globally. This role sits at the intersection of investments, analytics, and client engagement, offering the opportunity to gain deep expertise in portfolios and communicate insights to both internal and external stakeholders in a collegial, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop analytical frameworks to assess portfolio positioning, risk exposures, and performance drivers across strategies and products.
• Produce high-quality, investor-facing content—including presentations, portfolio reviews, thought leadership, and other commercial materials—in close coordination with other teams at the firm.
• Serve as a product expert for investment management strategies, engaging directly with investors and prospects to explain portfolio construction, performance attribution, and market dynamics.
• Provide context on investment management offerings, including actively managed equity portfolios, multi-asset class strategies, and solutions designed to complement institutional clients’ existing allocations.
• Partner with other members of the portfolio strategy team on client engagements and collaborate across the firm to develop consistent, accurate messaging that supports the investment management business objectives.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements in portfolio analytics, reporting, and communication workflows.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree and one to four years of finance-related experience in a comparable role; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Keen analytical skills, with solid investment knowledge and a demonstrated, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce polished, investor-ready content and deliver effective presentations.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively with a broad set of stakeholders.
• Comfort experimenting with and applying generative AI tools; proficiency in Python for analysis and debugging is preferred.

Company Benefits

The expected annual base salary for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. The compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
