Internship Summary:

The Foster Care and Adoption Intern will support all positions within the Foster Care Program including Case Planning, Homefinding, Case Aide and Family Visitation.

Intern tasks may include:

• Assist in supervising coached visitation for parents and children
• Work in collaboration with Case Planners, Visitation Coaches and Homefinders to support case work contacts, home visits and services
• Support training of foster parent skill development in order to best meet the needs of children in their care
• Maintain documentation, scanning and filing for Foster Care and Adoption team utilizing online systems: BINTI, Connections, Microsoft Teams
• Maintain monthly paperwork and audits for our children and families
• Create and organize necessary packets and letters for children and families
• Attend recruitment, retention and training events both in-person and virtual
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a BSW or MSW program or related fields.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all work.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diversity, equity and inclusion.
