This travel position is in a hospital setting, on a 25-bed surgical/telemetry unit that cares for a variety of postoperative patients, including thoracic, foregut, plastics, and burn cases, with telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and postoperative surgical patients on telemetry, including post-op care for thoracic, foregut, plastics, and burn cases as assigned.
- Monitor telemetry and patient status; manage medications, IV therapies, tubes, lines, and drains per policy; respond promptly to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document assessments and interventions in the EHR, and participate in care planning and care coordination.
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals as appropriate; promote safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice.
- May assume charge nurse, preceptor, or committee responsibilities as assigned, based on unit needs and patient acuity.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (RN)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry experience required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Education: graduate of an accredited nursing program; current licensure to practice in New York
