Senior data analyst

DUTIES: Analyze our financial data, surfacing insights on the performance of the business, to inform executive decision making. Present analytical findings, live or in writing, to diverse audiences, including executives, engineers, business stakeholders, and peers. Distill complex data analyses clearly and help others understand the so what of the data. Write SQL to transform and manipulate data, focus on code that is accurate, understandable, and performant. Create dashboards to track KPIs and data results over time. Use clear and understandable visualizations. Support stakeholders with ad-hoc requests, translating their business requirements into data requirements, educating them on the results, and automating analyses for repeated use where appropriate. Design, implement, and maintain highly performant data post-processing pipelines. Create shared data assets generating visibility into critical business metrics. Partner with analytics stakeholders to curate analysis-ready datasets and augment the generation of actionable insights. Partner with data engineering to expose governed datasets to the rest of the organization. Create and manage documentation and conduct knowledge sharing sessions to proliferate tribal knowledge and best practices. Maintain consistent planning and tracking of work in JIRA tickets. Telecommuting permissible from any location within US.Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign degree equivalent in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in Analytics or in the job offered or a related role.Experience and/or education must include: 1. Apply SQL and perform ad hoc analysis, complex joins, aggregations and window functions; 2. Data visualization tool Tableau;3. Pivot tables, VLOOKUP;4. Statistics Knowledge including the ability to calculate summary statistics (e.g., mean, median, standard deviation) and identify outliers, correlation and linear regression, and ability to interpret the output of advanced ML models, eg understanding accuracy and recall, model training vs inference, and limitations of ML models;5. Python Skills, including experience with data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) to automate report generation and develop data pipelines;6. Data Modeling Skills, including the ability to design data models, knowledge of the benefits/drawbacks of denormalization, and common schema designs (eg the star schema); 7. Data analytics skills, including R, Python, Excel;8. Managing codebases with git; and9.
