Engineering Manager

Akkodis currently has an Engineering Manager position with a client located in Rochester, NY. This is an onsite position, so the person needs to live within 40 miles of Rochester, NY. No C2C or agencies allowed with this position.

Pay/Salary Range: $130000-150000. This salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location or other factors.

Akkodis currently has a client who designs and builds industrial control panels and custom electrical assemblies, who serves customers in energy, automation, and advanced industrial sectors.

• Leadership with Purpose: Guide and mentor a cross-functional engineering team while directly influencing key business outcomes.
• Technical Ownership: Take projects from design review to production, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery excellence.

• Collaborative & Agile: Work closely with sourcing, quality, and production in a fast-paced, build-to-print environment.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians
• Assign and manage engineering tasks with clear expectations and deliverables.
• Review and translate customer documentation into manufacturable solutions.
• Implement process improvements for order transfer, documentation, and change management.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical challenges.
• Support lean manufacturing, new equipment/software rollouts, and ISO/OSHA compliance.
• Collaborate across departments to eliminate waste and drive operational excellence.
• Develop reports and KPIs to track team and project performance.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: 8–12 years in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership: Supervisory or management experience leading technical teams.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of control systems, schematics, and design documentation.
• Automation: Experience with manufacturing automation and process improvements
• Financial Acumen: Comfortable with estimating, budgeting, and cost tracking.
• Tech Forward: Familiarity with or interest in AI tools and emerging technologies.
• Mindset: Passion for technology, curiosity, and a drive to innovate and improve.
