JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Business Support Specialist

Status : Full-time, Hourly

Reports to: Executive Director

The Southern Adirondack Child Care Network, a not-for-profit child care resource center, is seeking a Business Support Specialist to help build the financial and operational capacity of child care programs, strengthening their ability to run sustainable, high-quality programs, and to recruit and provide assistance to those interested in opening a child care program.

Responsibilities include:

• Attain and improve knowledge of the child care field and child care program requirements.
• Support child care programs in understanding sustainable business practices.
• In partnership with child care programs, assess the business needs of that program.
• Offer training, technical assistance and resources on best business practices.
• Assist programs in developing and maintaining an annual operating budget.
• Work with local businesses in the community to identify local and regional support that is available to child care programs.
• Support the start up of new child care businesses.

Qualifications:

• Ability to successfully conduct diverse responsibilities of this position.
• Associate’s degree in a business-related field or Early Childhood Program Administration preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of record keeping, program management and other related business skills required.
• Knowledge of early childhood programming is helpful.
• Ability to use strength-based approach to adult learning.
• Excellent relationship building, communication and organizational skills required.
• Demonstrated experience with computers.
• Must have an insured vehicle and be legally able to drive.

Salary Range: $41,000-$42,000
