We are seeking a Trust & Estate Paralegal to join our New Jersey or New York offices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in estate and trust administration, handling all phases including probate, with a strong focus on client communication, tax return preparation, and fiduciary accountings. This role requires superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with specialized legal and tax software.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of estate and trust administration
- Handle probate matters, with knowledge of New Jersey and New York probate processes preferred
- Communicate effectively with clients, financial planners, and accountants
- Prepare federal and state estate tax returns
- Prepare fiduciary accountings
- Oversee distribution of estate assets and trust funding
- Utilize estate tax software and legal document preparation tools
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in trust and estate administration
- Proficiency with estate tax software such as ONESOURCE or Fast Tax
- Experience with HotDocs and Microsoft Word
