About the Position
TravelNurseSource is working with GSK SOLUTIONS INC to find a qualified CVICU RN in Utica, New York, 13501!
The Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized, high-acuity care to critically ill cardiac and post-operative cardiothoracic patients. This role requires advanced clinical expertise, particularly in managing post-surgical “fresh heart” cases and complex cardiovascular conditions.

- Unit: Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU)
- Common Diagnoses:
- Cardiovascular surgery recovery
- Cardiogenic shock
- Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)

Requirements
Required:
- Active RN license (New York State)
- Minimum 2+ years of CVICU/ICU experience
- Experience with fresh hearts (post-cardiac surgery) – REQUIRED
- Travel nursing experience – REQUIRED
- Current certifications:
- AHA BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Experience with EPIC EMR system
Preferred:
- Strong background in cardiothoracic surgery recovery
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills
- Experience in high-acuity ICU settings
