Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Syracuse, NY
Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift & Schedule:

• Day Shift | 3 × 12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• 36 Hours/Week

• Every Other Weekend | Some Holidays

• Floating as Needed | No On-Call

Pay Rate: $58 - $67/hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry for an exciting Contract opportunity in Syracuse, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients.

• Perform detailed patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.

• Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms.

• Administer medications, IV therapies, and other prescribed treatments safely.

• Perform IV insertions and obtain blood specimens as needed.

• Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to changes in condition.

• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety practices.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN) required.

• Active New York State Registered Nurse License required.

• Current BLS Certification required.

• Must be eligible for BLS recertification if required.

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last 2 years required.

• Experience in an acute care hospital of similar size or larger required.

• Strong Telemetry monitoring, IV insertion, and blood draw skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal orientation.

• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience preferred.

• Experience using EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
