Technical Support Aide (Acquisitions)
- Converts selection lists to purchase orders in SAP using data entry and Microsoft Office skills. Communicates progress with Associates and Coordinator.
- Orders monthly and special lists for library agencies.
- Retrieves information from the ILS, vendor websites, OCLC WorldShare and Internet search engines to verify, correct and/or add relevant data to customer requests. May also use other software such as but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, Virtua, Pitney Bowes and SAP.
- Processes requests from other institutions for Queens Public Library material electronically and manually.
- Handles incoming materials including lifting and opening boxes, checking contents against packing slips, matching materials with requests and preparing items for circulation.
- Handles outgoing materials including closing requests, lifting boxes and preparing items for shipping.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred.
- Two years of customer service experience required.
- Must have demonstrated experience in the following competencies: initiative, flexibility in approaching daily responsibilities, cooperative teamwork and modeling exemplary customer service.
- Must be friendly, courteous, and professional and have strong interpersonal skills to support customer service.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented, flexible and a self-starter required.
