Manager, Field Engineering Services
Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager of Field Engineering Services to lead a team of field engineers in the deployment, maintenance, and support of radar, command and control (C2), and weapon systems. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient and effective field operations, managing resource allocation, coordinating training programs, and defining competency standards for the team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field service engineering, leadership experience, and the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimize customer support and training services.
Responsibilities include:
Determine the resources required to support customer site operations and training needs based on demand forecasts.
Plan and schedule field engineers for both planned and unplanned site support, ensuring coverage and operational readiness.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate customer training events using field engineering resources.
Ensure all field engineers receive the necessary training to provide competent and high-quality site support.
Define competency criteria for field engineers, including certification levels, to assess skill progression and readiness.
Oversee field engineering operations to ensure the successful execution of support and training missions.
Act as the primary point of contact for escalations and critical site support decisions.
Drive continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of field operations.
Serve as the primary liaison between field engineers and customers to ensure expectations are met.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field engineers to enhance team capability and performance.
Ensure all field service operations comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Travel approximately 25% annually, both domestically and internationally.
Compensation Range: $132,000 - $171,600

When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a discipline related to technical expectations with 10+ years of experience, or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or 10+ years of relevant military leadership experience.
Must have a U.S. DoD SECRET clearance, or have previously held one.
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
