Job Title: Overnight Pharmacist
Pay Rate: $64.27 per hour
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
Shift: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Location: Albany, NY

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Overnight Pharmacist to join our team in Albany, NY. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who thrives in an independent overnight setting while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept, review, and accurately dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify overuse or misuse patterns
• Ensure all pharmaceutical practices comply with state and federal laws
• Evaluate prescriptions to confirm appropriateness, dosage accuracy, and potential interactions
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation
• Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, including usage, side effects, interactions, and storage
• Provide patient consultations and clinical services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices (e.g., glucose meters, blood pressure monitors)
• Compound medications for internal and external use as required
• Prepare sterile solutions in accordance with established procedures and standards
• Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
• Identify and resolve drug-related problems, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
• Work collaboratively with pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and the broader healthcare team

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Active and unrestricted New York State Pharmacist License
• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
