About the Role:
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Barista to support our Cafeteria programs. Together with our nonprofit partner, the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, we form a research and education institute dedicated to building and sharing environmentally-conscious food systems.
Reporting to the Campus Engagement Manager and Cafeteria Manager, the Barista plays an essential role in shaping the guest experience through all Cafeteria related activities. You will participate in breakfast and lunch services to provide an experience that reflects Blue Hill’s farm-to-table ethos.
This role goes beyond beverage preparation. As a Barista, you will collaborate closely with Cafeteria, kitchen, and service teams to ensure our offerings reflect the season, the landscape, and our commitment to quality. It is essential for this role to adapt to You will also support the daily operations of the cafeteria and retail programs, helping maintain standards of excellence, sustainability, and hospitality across all guest touchpoints.

- Organized: You manage inventory thoughtfully and stay attentive to supplies, sanitation, and maintenance needs.
- Curious: You have an interest in seasonality, sourcing, and sustainable food systems, and enjoy learning and sharing that knowledge with guests.
- Preparing and serving coffee and tea beverages, includes supporting inventory control and retail product management in addition to point of sale responsibilities.
- Assisting with food and beverage service, table maintenance, opening and closing duties, and general café upkeep.
- Collaborating with kitchen, service, and farm teams to provide an experience that aligns with Blue Hill’s core values through guest interaction and education initiatives.
- Performing all other job-related duties as necessary.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Barista is required; specialty or high-end café experience preferred.
- Familiarity with sanitation and food safety protocols.
- Compensation: Hourly $18 - $22

- Location & Hours: Full time position in-person at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY (~1 hr drive from NYC). Shifts involve working evenings and weekends.
