Pasta Cook
The Job
Palma is seeking an experienced and passionate Pasta Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has strong technical cooking skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality pasta dishes while maintaining Palma's standards of excellence.
Essential Responsibilities- Prepare and execute fresh pasta dishes according to Palma's recipes and standards.
- Consistently ensure mise en place is fully prepared, organized, and stocked throughout service.
- Maintain high standards of cooking, timing, food quality, presentation, and communication.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation throughout each shift.
- Follow all food safety, health, sanitation, and safe equipment practices.
- Adhere to all Palma policies, procedures, and kitchen standards.
- Working knowledge of ingredients, produce, recipes, and presentation.
- Experience cooking pasta in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Knowledge of Italian cuisine is a plus.
- Sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- NYC Food Protection (DOH) Certificate is a plus.
- English and Spanish fluency preferred.
Compensation: $18.00–$23.00 per hour
