Appellate and Motions Attorney - Medical Malpractice Defense

McAloon & Friedman is seeking a full time Appellate Attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience in the New York Appellate Courts and in litigation motion practice. The candidate must have excellent research, writing and advocacy skills and be familiar with New York State and Federal appellate rules. In addition to drafting and arguing appeals, the position involves motion practice through all stages of litigation and, in particular, drafting complex motions related to medical malpractice defense. The candidate must also be prepared to provide strategic legal analysis on complex legal issues to colleagues and clients. The attorney will work closely with the firm’s trial partners to shape legal arguments, preserve appellate issues, and manage post-trial motions and appeals. The applicant must be able to manage multiple cases and sometimes work under tight deadlines.

The applicant must have received a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted in New York with 2-6 years of experience in combined appellate and substantive/complex motion practice.

McAloon & Friedman provides a collegial work environment with a competitive compensation package, and generous employer health insurance contributions.

Compensation range: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year.

The compensation range can be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors as permitted by law. A salary bonus is also available for those who meet or exceed an hourly benchmark.
