Sous Chef
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. This role is perfect for a passionate food industry professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at team leadership, and has a strong background in food preparation, service management, and culinary excellence. As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction while fostering a positive and efficient work environment. Your expertise in banquet, catering, and fine dining settings will be instrumental in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety and sanitation standards
- Oversee food production, menu planning, and culinary execution to meet quality benchmarks
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize costs
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff through effective team management, training, and performance evaluations
- Coordinate catering events and banquet services with attention to detail and timely delivery
- Enforce food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Oversee food handling, preparation, and presentation to uphold high standards of quality and consistency
- Manage shift schedules, assign tasks, and monitor staff productivity to maximize efficiency
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery in fine dining or hospitality settings
Experience
- Proven experience in kitchen management within the food service industry, including restaurant or catering environments
- Experienced in Dominican/Seafood cuisine preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish + English)
- Supervising experience leading culinary teams in fast-paced settings
- Demonstrated expertise in food production, menu planning, and culinary techniques
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and cost control strategies
- Experience in managing diverse food service operations such as catering, restaurant management, or hospitality venues
- Knowledge of food handling regulations, kitchen safety standards, and sanitation procedures
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in shift management and operational oversight
