Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Position Type: Local or Travel | Contract

Compensation

• Travel: $2,520/week

• Local: $2,220/week

Schedule

• Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts/week

• Hours: 36 hours/week

• Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and select holidays required

Position Summary

A hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) for the Adult Emergency Department – Night Shift . The role includes providing care in the Adult ED with floating responsibilities to the Pediatric ED and other affiliated emergency units as needed. This position is ideal for adaptable nurses with strong emergency and trauma care experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department settings

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions

• Accurately document patient care and clinical data using EMR (EPIC preferred)

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective care

• Float to assigned emergency department units as operationally required

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License

• BLS Certification (current or eligible for recertification)

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent acute care Emergency Department experience within the last 2 years

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check

• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center

• EPIC EMR proficiency

• Prior experience floating between Adult and Pediatric ED units
