Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tile and Stone Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing architectural blueprints, reviewing accurate take-offs, and preparing comprehensive cost estimates for commercial projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the flooring/stone industry, excellent mathematical skills, and experience with estimation software, Measuresquare.

Key Responsibilities

• Blueprint Analysis: Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and addenda to understand the full scope of work.
• Take-offs & Quantifying: Conduct accurate digital take-offs for tile, natural stone, slab work, grout, underlayments, and setting materials.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed, line-item budget estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and logistics.
• Vendor Pricing: Solicit and negotiate pricing from material suppliers and stone fabricators to ensure competitive bidding.
• Proposal Creation: Standardize and submit clear, professional bid proposals to general contractors and clients.
• Project Hand-off: Collaborate with Project Managers to review awarded projects, ensuring a smooth transition from the bidding phase to installation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Minimum of [3-5] years of experience specifically in tile, marble, granite, and stone estimation.
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with take-off software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Bluebeam, or MeasureSquare ).
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of TCNA (Tile Council of North America) standards, installation methods, and substrate requirements.
• Mathematical Accuracy: Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate square footage, linear footage, waste factors, and profit margins accurately.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for negotiating with vendors and presenting bids to clients.
