Job Title: CAD (Millwork) Drafter
Job Description
As a CAD Drafter, you will play a crucial role in translating architectural and design intent into precise shop drawings and 3D models for custom millwork production. You will collaborate with design and production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility, interpreting project specifications, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities

Translate architectural and design intent into shop drawings that show how components fit together.

Conduct field visits and measurements to verify site conditions and ensure dimensional accuracy.

Prepare cut lists and send parts to the CNC machine for fabrication.

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel from design through production.

Identify and resolve assembly conflicts before they reach the shop.

Maintain organized documentation and stay aligned with project timelines.

Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, from field visits to final fabrication.

Produce precise technical drawings, shop drawings, and 3D models for custom millwork, casework, cabinetry, and fixtures using AutoCAD.
Essential Skills

Strong experience in using AutoCAD.

Proficient in technical drafting software such as AutoCAD, as well as 3D modeling tools like SketchUp or SolidWorks.

Strong understanding of millwork, joinery, and woodworking techniques.

Ability to read and create architectural blueprints and detailed drawings.

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, production, and project management teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a related field.

Prior experience in a related millwork drafting or engineering role is preferred.

Bachelor's degree or relevant technical certification in architecture, engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with keen attention to detail.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westbury, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
