Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational opportunity is available for a teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for early elementary grades. This role supports students in grades Kindergarten through 2nd grade within an elementary school setting. The position is located in the Syracuse, NY area and involves working with a caseload of approximately 10 students who are emergent municators and have autism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Adapt teaching methods to acmodate emergent municators with autism
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet learning goals
• Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student development

Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification/credentials in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Experience working with early elementary students, preferably grades K-2
• Ability to support students with autism and emergent munication needs
• Strong munication and collaboration skills with parents, teachers, and specialists
• Knowledge of assistive technology and munication devices used with DHH students

pensation for this role ranges from $45 to $55 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and experience required.
