Restaurant Event Sales & Coordinator

Oscar Wilde NYC is seeking a highly motivated, sales-driven Restaurant Event Sales & Coordinator to join our team.

This is an on-site position for someone who is passionate about hospitality, excels at building client relationships, and understands that every inquiry is an opportunity to generate revenue.

The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to all event inquiries promptly, managing the entire sales process from inquiry to execution, and serving as the on-site contact for prospective clients visiting the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to all Tripleseat inquiries immediately and maintain exceptional response times.
  • Be present on-site during scheduled business hours to assist walk-in guests interested in private events.
  • Conduct venue tours and actively sell Oscar Wilde’s event spaces.
  • Manage the entire event booking process from inquiry through event completion.
  • Create proposals, contracts, BEOs, floor plans, and custom menus using Tripleseat.
  • Follow up consistently on all pending proposals to maximize conversion rates.
  • Maintain relationships with hotels, concierge teams, corporate clients, event planners, and local businesses.
  • Prospect new business through networking, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Coordinate with the General Manager, culinary team, and operations to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Attend events when necessary to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Track deposits, payments, and event details accurately.

Reporting & Accountability

The Event Sales Coordinator will be expected to provide regular reports including:

  • Daily and weekly lead activity
  • Number of new inquiries received
  • Response times
  • Booked events
  • Pending proposals
  • Lost opportunities
  • Monthly sales revenue
  • Event pipeline and forecasting

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in hospitality event sales, catering sales, or restaurant private events.
  • Tripleseat experience is required.
  • Proven sales and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up abilities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Canva.
  • Familiarity with Toast POS, OpenTable, Resy, and SevenRooms is preferred.
  • Professional appearance and polished client-facing communication.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and special events as business demands.
