The Senior Consumer & Shopper Insights Manager is a strategic, self-motivated insights leader who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They bring a blend of analytical rigor and creative problem-solving to uncover actionable insights that drive brand growth. This individual is a collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills, a high level of personal accountability, and a passion for understanding consumers and shoppers.

In this role, the Senior Consumer & Shopper Insights Manager will partner closely with the Marketing and Innovation teams to ensure that insights are embedded in brand strategy, product development, and go-to-market planning. Responsibilities include developing learning agendas, conducting primary and secondary research, and translating insights into strategic recommendations with measurable business impact. The role offers frequent cross-functional collaboration, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities to influence long-term planning cycles.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Category & Consumer Insights and is based out of our NYC headquarters.

Main Responsibilities:

• Serve as the internal advocate for our consumer and shopper, ensuring their needs, motivations, and barriers are central to decision-making.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Marketing and Innovation teams, embedding insights into critical brand and innovation decisions.
• Synthesize diverse data sources to craft compelling narratives and answer day-to-day business questions.
• Design and manage research initiatives with external agencies to uncover growth opportunities.
• Audit current insights capabilities and recommend enhancements to fill knowledge gaps.
• Introduce innovative and outside-the-box research methodologies and tools.
• Analyze marketing campaign effectiveness and provide actionable recommendations for optimization.
• Proactively identify and solve high-priority business questions, presenting findings to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Stay ahead of trends driving natural and functional beverage consumption and translate them into strategic implications.

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years of consumer   and/or shopper insights experience, with a strong track record of partnering with Brand/Marketing teams and managing external vendors.
• CPG experience required; beverage industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency in mining panel data sources (e.g., Numerator, Circana) to extract actionable insights.
•  Experience designing and executing both quantitative and qualitative research to inform strategic decisions.
• Experience coordinating multicultural research and applying cultural insights to brand strategy is preferred.
•  Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Natural curiosity and desire to learn, with a strong passion for insights.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

At The Vita Coco Company, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $120,000-$135,000. This range may vary for positions that will be performed outside of California, Colorado, Nevada, New York City, Westchester County, NY, Rhode Island, or Washington.
