Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Rochester, NY (14621)

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift & Schedule

• Shift: 4×12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Weekends: Every other weekend required

• Orientation: 24 hours

• Call-Off Policy: Up to 3 shifts per contract

• Holidays: Availability required for every other holiday

Position Overview

A large acute-care hospital in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-acuity care in a fast-paced Level II trauma emergency department . This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid response skills, and the ability to manage emergency situations across adult and geriatric patient populations.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience

• Active New York RN license (must be active; no pending licenses)

• EPIC electronic medical record experience required

• Current certifications:

  • AHA BLS

  • ACLS

  • NIHSS

Required Clinical Skills

IV Therapy

• Initiating and maintaining IV access

• Phlebotomy

• Blood product administration

• Central line care

• IV vasopressor administration

Respiratory Care

• CPAP and BiPAP management

• Ventilator management

Neurological Care

• Cerebrovascular accidents (CVA/stroke)

• Neuro-trauma

• Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

• Spinal cord injury

Cardiac Monitoring

• Dysrhythmia interpretation

• Dysrhythmia management

Emergency & Trauma Care

• Adult emergency department care

• Pediatric emergency department exposure

• Gunshot wounds

• Orthopedic trauma
