Chemical technician

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Technician II to manage chemical inventory and support laboratory operations.

Job Title: Chemical Technician II

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain chemical inventory using CISPro Biovia or similar systems

• Conduct regular audits and inventory cleanouts, including proper disposal of expired/unused chemicals

• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of laboratory materials

• Monitor and analyze inventory levels to identify trends and recommend process improvements

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols

• Collaborate with departments to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred

• Experience in chemical inventory management or laboratory support

• Proficiency with computer-based inventory systems

• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking ability

• Comfortable handling chemicals in a lab or industrial setting
