Role Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects and active maintenance accounts for MJZ clients throughout New York City and customer locations across the US. This includes planning, subcontractor coordination, client communication, cost control, scheduling, and closeout.

Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Project Management

- Manage commercial construction projects from kickoff through closeout
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
- Review scopes, pricing, and change orders
- Conduct site visits, progress walks, and punch lists
- Ensure compliance with MJZ standards, NYC codes, and client requirements

Maintenance Account Management

- Oversee recurring maintenance accounts across multiple client locations
- Coordinate service calls, emergency responses, and preventative maintenance
- Dispatch and manage subcontracted trades
- Track work orders, costs, and completion status
- Maintain strong ongoing relationships with client stakeholders

Client & Internal Coordination

- Serve as the primary client contact for assigned accounts
- Communicate clearly regarding timelines, costs, and scope
- Work closely with MJZ leadership and administrative staff
- Support estimating, proposals, and operational planning as needed

Travel

Local travel within NYC and the surrounding metro area is required. All job-related travel expenses are fully covered by MJZ. Some travel may be required to other states, all travel expenses covered by MJZ

Compensation

This role is compensated as a percentage of project and service costs managed. Compensation is directly tied to performance, efficiency, and account growth.

Qualifications

- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects (2-5 years)
- Experience managing maintenance or service accounts preferred (2-5 years)
- Strong subcontractor coordination and cost-control skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with NYC job sites and logistics preferred

- Strong computer and tech skills

- Read, understand and enforce construction drawings, Equipment manufacturers O/M documents

- Focus on MEP or Material handling or Food Service equipment is a plus.
