About American Volunteer Center for Immigrants (AVC):
AVC is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting people facing detention, deportation, and Immigrants related challenges. Through our AVC Legal Coordination Committee, we connect right lawyers with immigration communities to ensure fair access to legal resources.
Opportunity Description:
We are seeking vilunteer interns ( students or recent graduates) with bil8ngual skills to assist with effective communication between lawyers and foreign immigrants. Volunteer will help with translation, outreach, case coordination, and immigration support.
Key Responsiblities:
- Provide translation/interpretation ( verbal and written);
- Support immigration in understanding legal process;
- Assist the AVC Legal Coordination Committee with case-related communication;
- Help with outreach, research, and community education.
Qualifications:
- Must be bilingual (English + Korean. Or Chinese, or Spanish, or Russian language);
- Strong communication and organizational skills;
- Interested in immigration law, social justice, or community service (ex. Help with Job training and job placement, etc );
- Students in pre-law. Social work, international relations, or language studies are stro gly concerned.
Time Commitmen5:
- Flexible Work Time;
- Minimum of 5-10 hours per week recommended.
