Counter Attendant

Upscale French Café is looking for a professional and experienced Counter Attendant and Cashier to welcome and serve our patrons in a friendly and polite manner. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to provide a positive first experience for every guest.

Location: Café Bilboquet, 26 East 60th Street New York, NY 10022

Primary Responsibilities:

• Open and close the Café daily.
• Greeting customers as they arrive and making them feel welcome.
• Taking food and drink orders from patrons and completing orders in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Packaging orders for takeaway.
• Ring up orders accurately and handle cash, credit, and gift card transactions efficiently and without error.
• Maintain required cleaning and sanitizing of the work area includes espresso machine, grinder, pour-over parts, utensils, etc.
• Proper food handling protocol for all service items.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must have more than one year of prior experience in a customer-facing role in a café or other food service establishment
• Experience as a barista preferred
• Have schedule flexibility
• Works well as part of a team
• Hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire

Languages: French and Italian (highly preferred)
