What the role is about:
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Sales Representative to join our growing dynamic team! The Sales Representative will be responsible for establishing, developing, and growing wholesale sales through positive customer interactions, product training and customer engagement. Additional responsibilities include spreading brand awareness and increasing wholesale sales through field marketing efforts, product training and customer/patient engagement. This individual will achieve established sales targets by managing positive customer-focused relationships with New York licensed medical and adult use marijuana dispensaries and staff be dedicated to creating a dominant presence by managing positive customer-focused relationships with all New York licensed adult use and medical marijuana dispensaries and staff. This position reports directly to the Head of Wholesale NY and is applicable to the NY metro area.

What impact you’ll make:
  • Identify prospective customers, lead generation and conversion.
  • Prospect and maintain a highly organized schedule of regular on-site & off-site staff education meetings and events.
  • Ability to analyze the market potential, track sales and plan a growth strategy.
  • Ability to continuously assess cold/warm/hot opportunities and prioritize your time and activities accordingly to hit your targets
  • Engage with buyers and schedule ongoing product engagement to ensure reorders.
  • Ability to coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments. Collaboration and asking for help is a key to success.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the New York cannabis industry, Adult Use and Medical Marijuana Programs and understanding of the competitive market, keeping industry knowledge current and up to date.
  • Ability to demonstrate high motivation and desire to exceed goals.
  • Identify and sustain key merchandising opportunities for accounts with dominant product placements and displays, ensuring execution and alignment with all sales programs.
  • Present and discuss sales and marketing collateral, brand values, products, cultivar genetic information and value adds.
  • Participate in operations planning by effectively communicating and maintaining inventory levels on all point-of-sale items and collateral.
  • Serve and support Vireo as a brand representative for community outreach, industry events and trade shows as opportunities occur.
  • Identify and follow up on leads via phone and email, documenting all attempts and outcomes of leads.
  • Transport, setup, breakdown and maintain trade materials and table displays as needed.
  • Maintain all applicable reports and records, including those mandated in NY.
  • Be our local New York wholesale representative with extensive knowledge of specific items in the Adult Use and Medical Marijuana space.
What you’ve accomplished:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 2+ years of formal sales/networking experience.
  • 2+ years cannabis industry experience (preferred).
  • Self-starter who understands how to generate sales and drive sell-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent collaboration skills.
  • Proficient or working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, both in person and remotely.
  • Experience working in a sales role in a highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience with sales management or CRM software preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% -75% and overnight.
  • Ability to work weekends.
  • Clean driving record, and valid driver’s license required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle to support regular job duties and customer deliveries as needed
  • Extended periods of prolonged sitting and standing.
  • Extended periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
