We are looking for experienced Respiratory Therapists located in Brooklyn, NY

***MUST know how to do PFT's (Pulmonary Function Tests)***

Essential Generic Job Functions:

• Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the education, treatment, management, & diagnostic evaluation and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
• Performing Intubation assistance as well as Ventilator set-up & management.
• Gathering all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient’s needs, including patient specific disease education as well as testing and consultations with other health care professionals, as appropriate.
• Developing a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver, as well as team members, to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.
• Provides and documents education to patients/caregivers based upon identified needs in an understandable manner.
• Contacts: Regular contact with medical personnel and its visitors.

Skills:

-Minimum 2 years’ experience preferably in a Hospital setting.
-Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
-Excellent creative skills, ideas to improve existing programs.
-Services, processes, ideas that have impact on this job and the department.
-Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing and bending.
-May include some repetitive motions.

Education:

-A.A.S. degree in Respiratory Care from an approved A.M.A / NBRC school - required

-Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care from an approved A.M.A / NBRC school - preferred

Required Certifications & Licensure:
-Licensed Respiratory Therapist RRT - New York State
-BLS - American Heart Association
-ACLS - American Heart Association
