Product Manager - Buyer Experience
1stDibs is a one-of-a-kind online marketplace that connects design lovers to more than one million extraordinary pieces, from furniture and fine art to jewelry and fashion. We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for the Buyer Experience with a focus on the Product Detail Page (PDP) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This role sits at the intersection of product, design, machine learning, and data science, shaping the future of how users shop on 1stDibs.
This position is based in NYC but has the potential to not require an in office presence if you reside in one of the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, IL, MD, MI, MA, NJ, NY, NV, NC, PA, RI, TX
What you'll do
- Define the PDP Roadmap: Establish a clear vision and strategy for the Product Detail Page experience, balancing innovation with measurable impact on conversion, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
- Elevate Product Discovery & Conversion: Partner with design and user research on initiatives that optimize the buyer experience, such as imagery, reviews, descriptions, recommendations, and pricing.
- Leverage AI & Personalization: Collaborate with ML and data science teams to integrate personalized recommendations and dynamic content that tailor the PDP experience to each customer.
- Develop an SEO Strategy: Grow traffic from search engines and emerging LLM-driven discovery platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini), optimizing the PDP for engagement.
- Experiment & Iterate: Partner with engineering, analytics, and design to run A/B tests, measure outcomes, and continuously refine PDP elements to maximize performance and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Align stakeholders across product, marketing, analytics and our seller teams to deliver cohesive, data-driven product experiences that drive business growth.
What you'll bring
- 4+ years of product management experience, with a focus on two-sided ecommerce marketplaces.
- Proven experience designing and interpreting A/B tests to drive product decisions.
- A track record of planning, directing, and executing product roadmaps that deliver tangible business results.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and tell a compelling story.
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of dissecting complex issues and collaborating across different teams to find effective solutions.
- Proficiency in analytical skills, including SQL, to analyze data, identify opportunities, and evaluate feature performance to make informed decisions and trade-offs.
Our overall compensation package is made of several parts, base compensation being one of them. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Tri-State Pay Range
$150,000—$180,000 USD
Remote home office-based employees outside of the tri-state area are eligible for the following salary range.
Remote
$135,000—$169,000 USD
