We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our organization in Lancaster, New York. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial reporting while driving process improvements and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead the preparation and delivery of financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in compliance with GAAP.
• Administer the organization's Profit-Sharing Plan, addressing employee inquiries and ensuring alignment with company policies.
• Supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
• Manage customer collections and vendor payments, reviewing aging reports and ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit schedules during month-end and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support long-term business goals.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Coordinate year-end audits and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
• Drive process improvements by leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting, automate workflows, and increase operational efficiency.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role such as Controller.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within a mid-sized organization.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, internal controls, and cash flow management.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as Oracle, Sage, or similar ERP platforms, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Proven ability to analyze financial data, interpret variances, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience mentoring and collaborating across teams.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities.
