Jr. Sourcing Specialist

Salary: $20.33- $30.50

SUMMARY

Assists the Sourcing Specialists in procuring non-resalable goods to support capital projects, maintenance related issues, store sales and/or merchandising, etc. Assist Sourcing Specialists with Reverse Auctions (e-auctions) and Topco resources to drive down the cost of goods we purchase. Utilize internet technology to have qualified suppliers compete for our business. Work with various stakeholders and functional business areas to identify savings opportunities. Create purchase orders for all Equipment and Small Wares. Respond to email and phone inquiries as needed.

Position located in Schenectady, NY office

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research and/or obtain quotes from suppliers to obtain the best price and savings for equipment and related supply items as assigned by the Senior Sourcing Specialist .
• Obtains all required approval documentation and assists in qualification of new source.
• Update and/or maintain information related to equipment catalog, cut sheets and prototypes. Assign code numbers to equipment as needed.
• Advise Sourcing Agents of discrepancies/corrections/updates in pricing. Update pricing as needed and instructed.
• Work with Maintenance and Design on Equipment changes.
• Assist Sr. Sourcing Specialist in gathering information for Topco, Reverse Auction, and all bidding functions.
• Assist Sourcing Specialist in bidding.
• May be assigned special projects as needed. (New EQ testing, reviewing/updating Procurement Tracker)
• Stay informed of all Remodels and Caps related projects and schedules to ensure timely deliveries are met. Act as a resource for any questions pertaining to this.
• Understand Merchandising programs and the supporting equipment needs.
• Research merchandising offers and equipment specifications for supporting supplies and small equipment as requested by Sourcing Specialists. Provide cost comparisons when requested bu Sourcing Agents.
• Provide vendor or account analysis as requested by Sourcing Specialist.
• Work in the Procureit Purchasing platform to cut PO’s, update information, run reports, etc.
• Participate in cross training and assisting various areas of the Engineering Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Procureit knowledge helpful
• Computer knowledge, able to do spreadsheets (Excel)
• Able to read and comprehend construction documents

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 2 years experience as a purchasing clerk or equivalent equipment experience
• Associates Degree preferred
