Job Title: Phlebotomist

Location: Patchogue, NY

Duration: 8 Weeks

Hours: 40 Hours/Week

Shift: Evening Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM (5x8)

Compensation:

• Travel Rate: $26–$28/hour ($975 – $1,050/week) – based on experience
• Local Rate: $23–$25/hour ($862 – $937/week) – based on experience

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong venipuncture skills, excellent patient interaction abilities, and prior inpatient hospital experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection accurately and efficiently
• Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling
• Process, handle, and transport specimens according to established protocols
• Maintain strict infection control and safety standards
• Ensure accurate documentation of collected specimens
• Provide compassionate and professional patient care
• Collaborate effectively with laboratory and clinical staff
• Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for specimen collection
• Support workflow needs during evening shifts and weekends

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience required
• At least 1 year of inpatient hospital experience required
• Current Phlebotomy Certification required
• BLS Certification (AHA) required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible scheduling, including alternating weekends
