Location: We are currently recruiting Senior Accountants to work on our audit team in the Utica and Rome, NY offices.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Working in a team environment to perform quality accounting and auditing engagements as an in-charge that reports to Managers and Partners.
• Assuming responsibility for planning audits, communicating with clients, meeting deadlines, review of work papers, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements as needed.
• Supervision, assuming a leadership role and providing on-the-job training to develop and mentor staff.
• Conducting research of more complex issues using internet-based tools with ability to communicate and document the results orally and/or written in a clear and concise manner.
• Display a good understanding of professional standards, GAAS, and GAAP.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 150 credit hours or working toward the 150 hours for CPA eligibility in New York State.
• CPA preferred (or actively preparing to pass the CPA examination).
• 3+ years audit experience in public accounting is required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, be organized, prioritize, and follow Firm policies/procedures.
• Ability to work directly with clients, develop good working relationships with client personnel, and have a commitment to exceptional client service.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of ProSystem fx Engagement, ProSystem fx Tax, PPC Smart Practice Aids, IDEA, Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license is required for frequent same day travel at clients’ offices using a personal vehicle, as well as occasional out-of-town travel requiring overnight stay.
• Must have the ability to work additional hours during busy season as applicable and needed.

Salary $60,000 to $80,000 based on education/CPA eligibility, CPA certification, and years of experience.
