Junior Full Stack Developer
MetLife Legal Plans is currently hiring a Junior Full Stack Developer for our growing Technology Department.As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will help design and build modern web applications that support our legal and insurance technology platforms. In this role, you will primarily focus on front-end development , working with JavaScript, React, CSS, and Material UI to create intuitive and responsive user experiences for our client-facing systems.
You will also gain exposure to the full stack , collaborating with the engineering team to support backend services and business logic using technologies such as Python, Django, and PostgreSQL . Your work will contribute directly to applications that power critical business operations, including systems that support financial and accounting workflows.
This role is ideal for an early-career developer who enjoys building clean, functional interfaces while developing deeper full stack skills. You will work in an agile development environment , partnering with experienced engineers to write quality code, solve technical challenges, and continuously improve the systems that support our growing business.
While experience with financial or accounting-related applications is helpful, it is not required. We are looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, and eager to grow as a developer.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required):
- Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or equivalent.
- Experience building web applications
- Experience building solutions for customer facing applications.
- Demonstrated experience building modern web applications using microservices.
- Well-honed skills and knowledge of both agile development and the OKR framework.
- Familiarity with modern web development tools and frameworks.
What Will Make You Special (Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities):
- Experience in React, Material UI, SASS, Django, Postgres, and AWS would be a plus.
- Strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
