As part of our founding team, you’ll help bring the Softville world to life, creating a genuine connection for every guest through hospitality, community and care.

About the Role

This is a hands on production role that combines pastry, gelato and guest service.

No two days are the same. You'll spend time producing cakes, cookies, sauces and toppings in our production kitchen, preparing fresh ice cream bases, operating our soft serve equipment and stepping into front of house to create beautiful sundaes and deliver memorable guest experiences.

You'll work alongside our Head Chef and production team to ensure every component leaving the kitchen meets Softville's quality standards while also helping bring the experience to life on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Pastry Production

• Produce cookies, cakes, brownies, crumbles, pralines and other baked inclusions
• Prepare sauces, ganaches, fruit preparations, caramel and other dessert components
• Portion, label and store products following FIFO procedures
• Maintain consistency across all recipes and production standards
• Assist with new product development and seasonal menu launches

Gelato & Soft Serve Production

• Prepare and pasteurize fresh ice cream bases
• Operate and maintain pasteurizing equipment
• Prepare and manage soft serve mixes
• Operate, clean and maintain soft serve machines
• Monitor product quality, texture and consistency throughout service
• Assist with production planning and stock management

Front of House

• Prepare and finish signature sundaes during service
• Answer questions relating to ingredients, allergens and menu items
• Maintain exceptional presentation standards throughout service
• Replenish dessert stations and ensure products remain fresh and visually appealing

General Responsibilities

• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient work environment
• Assist with receiving and rotating deliveries
• Work collaboratively across both kitchen and front of house teams
• Support the Head Chef with daily production requirements

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has previous pastry, bakery, dessert or gelato experience
• Takes pride in producing consistently high quality products
• Enjoys both kitchen production and interacting with guests
• Is comfortable working in a fast paced environment
• Has strong attention to detail and excellent time management
• Works well as part of a team
• Is eager to learn new techniques and processes
• Is reliable, organized and takes ownership of their work
• Is able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when required

What You'll Bring

• Experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery, dessert kitchen or ice cream production environment preferred
• Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
• Passion for desserts, hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
