Security Engineer (Detection and Response) (New York)

The Role
Our mission is to bring blockchain to a billion people. That's a lot of software to cover. As a Detection and Response Engineer at Alchemy, you'll spearhead our Security Operations. Your mission? To strengthen our defenses against threats in the dynamic blockchain landscape. You will craft cutting-edge alerting systems and sophisticated detections, fortify our infrastructure against potential risks, and pioneer containment and remediation strategies. Additionally, you'll be responsible for scaling and optimizing our log ingestion and alerting pipelines to ensure system robustness. What You'll Do :
- Design, build, and operate Alchemys security operations program, establishing centralized security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.
- Create tooling and automation to enhance signal processing, enrichment, and analysis.
- Research threat-actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and develop detections to identify and contain security threats.
- Respond to security events through triage, investigation, incident analysis, and clear communication with partners.
- Define security best practices and collaborate with software development teams to integrate security measures into the development lifecycle.
What We're Looking For :
- 7+ years of experience in security operations, threat detection, incident response, or related fields.
- Deep expertise in security monitoring, log analysis, and detection strategies.
- Experience building and automating playbooks and containment strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of discussing complex technical concepts with engineers and partners at all levels.

Alchemy offers competitive compensation, including base salary and equity. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, and unlimited flexible time off.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $350,000 annually. This range reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, equity, or additional benefits. Salary will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
