Job Title: Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)

Location: Utica, NY

Contract Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Type: Contract | Hospital Setting

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a leading healthcare facility in Utica, NY. The RN will provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring and advanced clinical support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions.

• Monitor and manage patients with neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory issues, including COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and post-op cases.

• Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems.

• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

• Document all care accurately in the EMR system (EPIC experience required).

• Float to other units as needed to support patient care operations.

Requirements:

• License: Active RN license in New York (verification required through NURSYS).

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Intermediate Care, PCU, or Step-Down units. Travel experience preferred.

• Certifications: Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

• References: Two recent IMCU Charge Nurse or Manager RN references required.

• Skills: Ability to manage vents (chronic/non-weaning), strong critical thinking, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment.

• EMR Experience: EPIC required.

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue.

• Floating: Required.
