Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact initiatives across Decisioning Studio, including agent setup, creative and launch workflows, reporting, and ML-connected services.
• Build full-stack product experiences spanning dashboard interfaces, data models, APIs, and background jobs.
• Lead web application architecture efforts focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and ML Engineering teams to deliver AI decisioning capabilities.
• Influence product strategy and roadmap through technical insight and user-experience innovation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to their technical growth and the team’s quality culture.
• Support teams implementing Braze’s AI solutions to promote customer success and effective collaboration.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant experience with a strong track record of impact.
• Strong full-stack development skills, including data models, APIs, background jobs, and end-to-end product ownership.
• Strong frontend development experience with TypeScript and React; Vue experience is a plus.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable web application architectures.
• Experience using AI coding agents and creating reusable skills and automation to improve team velocity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including design documentation and technical proposals.
• User-centric approach and commitment to polished, intuitive user experiences and maintainable code.
• Experience navigating large codebases, aligning stakeholders, and driving consensus on technical decisions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to their technical development.
• Preferred experience developing user experiences for machine-learning and data-intensive applications.
• Preferred experience building product surfaces on top of LLMs and agentic systems, including embeddings, agent orchestration, and evaluation.
• Python and/or Ruby on Rails experience is strongly preferred.
