Financial Literacy Instructor - On Demand
Position Overview - We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable On-Call Financial Literacy Instructor to provide engaging financial education to diverse audiences across the New York tri-state area. This flexible position involves teaching financial concepts to elementary, middle school, and high school students, parents, and adults through various educational settings and formats.
Key Responsibilities: Instruction and Curriculum Delivery
- Deliver age-appropriate financial literacy instruction to students from elementary through high school levels
- Conduct financial education workshops and seminars for parents and adult learners
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and educational backgrounds
- Present complex financial concepts in accessible, engaging ways for various age groups
Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and customize lesson plans based on audience needs and educational objectives
- Create interactive activities, exercises, and real-world scenarios to enhance learning
- Utilize multimedia resources and technology to support instruction
- Assess participant understanding and provide constructive feedback
Community Engagement
- Travel throughout the NY tri-state area to deliver on-site instruction at schools, community centers, libraries, and other venues
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and community organizations
- Participate in financial literacy events, fairs, and community outreach programs
- Maintain professional relationships with educational institutions and community partners
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of instruction hours and participant attendance
- Prepare progress reports and program evaluations as required
- Stay current with financial literacy standards and educational best practices
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for instructional sessions
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Education, Business, or related field, OR
- Equivalent professional experience demonstrating successful financial literacy instruction
- Proven track record of teaching or training in financial concepts
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of personal finance topics, including budgeting, saving, investing, credit, insurance, and financial planning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex financial concepts to audiences of varying ages and backgrounds
- Experience with curriculum development and instructional design preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology platforms

- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the tri-state area
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications - Not Required
- Teaching certification or adult education credentials is a plus
- Professional certifications in financial planning or counseling are a plus
- Bilingual capabilities (Spanish, French, and Bengali are a plus)
- Experience working with K-12 students and adult learners
- Background in curriculum development or educational program management
