Part-Time HR ASSISTANT SUMMARY:
- 20 - 25 hours a week
Middletown Park Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is a 230-bed facility, committed to being the premier provider and employer of choice in Short Term Rehabilitation, Sub-Acute, and Long Term Healthcare services for the Hudson Valley area. - The main responsibilities of the HR Assistant is to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager in benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, and overall general planning, project coordination, and training in areas of the Human Resources Department.
- The HR Assistant provides general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms and reports, processing confidential reports and documents, filing electronic and hard copy, tracking deadlines, and taking down minutes as needed.
- Prepare and maintain all employee personnel files.
- HR Assistant coordinates orientation, welcome, explanation of facility policies and procedures and process new hire paperwork.
- Responsible for issuing, activating and deactivating ID badges, swipe cards and collecting after termination of employment.
- Conducts pre-employment screening, including credential verification, OIG exclusion checks, nurse aide registry, references and criminal background checks.
- Entering, maintaining and keeping track of recruitment through the HRIS System.
- Enter all new hire data, change of statuses into HRIS system and ensure data integrity.
- Assists with setting appointments for interviews, including screening of applicants and resumes.
- Files all employee paperwork in appropriate file, ensuring discretion and confidentiality. Thins terminated files annually and sends out for storage.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree or higher education in Business or other relevant field preferred.
- One to three years of human resources experience preferably in healthcare, Long Term Care experience a huge plus!
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Ability to provide excellent group presentation skills.
- Working knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local employment laws.
