Pharm Technician

Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role requires working every weekend from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and three weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on a flexible schedule. As a Pharmacy Floor Technician, you will be responsible for preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist.

• Assist in processing returned drugs and recycle or dispose of them as per procedure.

• Prepack frequently ordered medications, label, and store them during low volume times.

• Manually package materials and products.

• Pull and pick medications from shelving and other storage areas.

• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products for accuracy checks.

• Alert the pharmacist on duty of any medication or product that is not scanning properly.

• Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish stock supplies as needed.

• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA.

• Be available for overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.

• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to work at a moderate speed.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Possess and maintain a clear and active license (not needed in NYS).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking intermittently throughout the day. The position may require standing or sitting for seven to ten hours a day and working extended hours as needed. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally is necessary. Visual acuity for reading fine print and the ability to adjust focus is needed. The work environment is representative of typical conditions encountered while performing the essential functions of this role.

This is a Contract position based out of Vestal, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
