Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Hicksville, NY (On-site)

Schedule : Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift

Salary: $75,000 - $105,000

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare interim and annual financial statements for CFO and VP Finance

• Record and maintain journal entries, including multi-entity allocations and intercompany transactions

• Maintain general ledger accounts, monthly/year-end adjustments, and account analysis

• Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet schedules; support external audits and executive reporting

• Supervise the general accounting team, including training and backup coverage

• Allocate corporate physician costs to affiliated entities on a monthly basis

• Reconcile all accounts with affiliated entities

• Administer and implement compensation plans for over 200 physicians (employed and 1099)

• Ensure compliance with physician compensation regulations and fair market value standards

• Coordinate with external auditors (e.g., Workers’ Compensation)

• Provide detailed financial data for corporate tax preparation

• Prepare quarterly and annual federal/state tax returns across multiple entities

• Complete financial surveys and questionnaires for government and financial institutions

• Resolve financial questions from physicians and leadership

• Prepare budgets and approve check requests across all related entities

• Handle special projects and other related duties as needed

• Work with confidential financial information and ensure compliance with internal policies

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required)

• CPA and/or MBA (Preferred)

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in hospital accounting

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience preparing financial presentations

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs

• Work is performed primarily indoors in an office setting
