Position Summary
The Dishwasher supports kitchen operations through the cleaning, organization, and maintenance of kitchen equipment, dishware, utensils, and back-of-house workspaces. This role plays an essential part in maintaining Milos' standards of cleanliness, food safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish stations, kitchen areas, storage spaces, and service areas
- Support kitchen setup, stocking, and breakdown procedures throughout service
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules
- Assist with waste removal and maintain proper sanitation practices
- Follow food safety, health, and workplace safety standards at all times
- Operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning and dishwashing supplies and communicate restocking needs
- Support the culinary team as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with opening, service, and closing standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready back-of-house environment
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Previous dishwasher, steward, kitchen utility, or restaurant experience preferred
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendanc
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with ADA, FMLA, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs regularly
- Ability to place dishes, cookware, and supplies on both low and high shelving
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive movement
- Ability to perform effectively in an active kitchen environment with varying temperatures and extended periods of standing
Compensation
- The base pay range for this position is between $17 per hour.
- The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
