Line Cook
Noury is a new, lively izakaya wine bar in the heart of SoHo, opening in June. It’s the second project from the team behind the restaurant, Kiko, located in Hudson Square.
Noury is owned by husband & wife team, Chef Alex Chang and sommelier, Lina Goujjane. The kitchen will be overseen by Chef Joji Miwa, who brings a traditional Japanese cooking background. Located on Sullivan Street, Noury intends to become a permanent fixture in downtown Manhattan. We celebrate the best of Japanese izakaya dining, known for its social atmosphere where guests can happily enjoy small plates paired with drinks like sake, wine & beer.Noury seeks experienced cooks to join our team. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about their craft. The menu will consist of traditional Japanese cooking techniques with the involvement of a small sushi program. For individuals passionate about learning more about Japanese cuisine, Noury will be a great place to learn.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants preferred but not required
- Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
- Team-orientated and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills a must
