Sommelier

We are seeking passionate, full-time Floor Somms to join our opening team, with training beginning January 20th!

Opening in February 2026, Giulietta is a sunny, casual all-day Italian restaurant with over 275 indoor seats and 100 seats outside. Inspired by relaxed summers on the Mediterranean, the restaurant will have something for everyone, offering the business people, tourists and residents of Midtown a transporting oasis in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Grand Central. The seasonal outdoor Aperitivo bar and garden with seating for over 150 guests, serving a variety of aperitivo based cocktails, frozen drinks, pizza and small bites. A presto!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalized wine recommendations and execute proper service techniques including decanting and temperature management
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our wine program and collaborate with culinary team on pairings
• Train service staff on wine knowledge and service standards
• Manage wine inventory, ordering, and list curation in partnership with management
• Stay current with wine industry trends and emerging regions

Qualifications:

• Court of Master Sommeliers or WSET certification - Level 2 or higher preferred
• 2+ years of sommelier experience
• Extensive knowledge of global wine regions and varietals
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift wine cases (up to 50 lbs)
• Ability to perform essential job functions when working in a high business volume, fast-paced environment
• Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods of time as required to perform essential job functions
• Able to lift 35+ lbs.
• Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Working proficiency of written and spoken English

*Please be advised, the hourly rate is $17.00 per hour less a $5.65 tip credit.
