Experienced Equity Research Associate/Senior Associate - Utilities, Independent Power Producers & Cl

What is the position? Evercore ISI seeks to hire a Research Associate to support the Senior Research Analyst on its equity research team covering utilities, independent power producers and clean energy in New York, NY.

Primary Responsibilities: The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic and should be comfortable working independently as well as in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. Prior equity research or investment banking experience is preferred, but not necessarily required if the individual has an industry background and a finance orientation. The candidate may be required to provide a work product including a writing sample and a financial model.

• Develop and update company-specific and industry financial models
• Perform financial and valuation analysis of covered companies
• Author industry and company-specific research reports
• Oversee data collection and monitor investor news services
• Other duties as necessary

Specific Qualifications:

• Exceptional analytical and modeling capabilities
• Excellent communication skills; the job entails significant writing and PowerPoint responsibilities
• Concrete understanding of / demonstrated interest in corporate finance & equity markets
• Background in equity research, investment banking, or Energy industry background with a finance orientation
• Comfortable working in a collaborate team-oriented environment
• S. degree required
• MBA and/or CFA helpful but not required

Expected Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $175,000
